Student Appeals and Grievances Policy A student grievance exists when a student claims that a violation or a misinterpretation of a Pamlico CommunityHigherpolicy, procedure, or practice has occurred. A student filing a grievance should follow the procedures outlined in the online higher itemize (pages 53-54). Student Complaint Process In compliance with state regulations and by rules promulgated by the U.S. Department of Education, The University of North Carolina is single-minded to a student complaint process that is fair, timely, and effective. This policy establishes a process by which students can initiate complaints versus a post-secondary institution offering programs in the state of North Carolina when all other forums at the institutional level have been exhausted. The University of North Carolina System Office, vicarial as the clearinghouse for complaints concerning post-secondary institutions that have been duly authorized to operate within the State of North Carolina, will act upon those complaints within its purview and forward those that are not to the towardly agency. The Board of Governors has formal and informal involvement with, and tenancy over, the complaints and appeals that upspring at its plug-in institutions. In wing to uncontrived involvement, the Board of Governors has moreover delegated validity to the plug-in institutions and President to receive complaints and act on them accordingly.   Student complaints are routinely resolved at the institutional level. If there is no specific policy to request to the University of North Carolina Board of Governors, the President’s staff at UNC System Office maintains an unshut student complaint process “to review and thus act on complaints concerning the institution”. Students from all plug-in institutions may utilize the using form provided by the UNC System Office Office of Post-Secondary Education Complaints to submit these complaints.   Complaints versus Licensed Institutions, 36 Privates andPolityColleges Complaints received versus post-secondary institutions licensed within the state of North Carolina, state polity colleges, and the 36 privately held institutions will be forwarded to the towardly organ for action. Students may utilize the using form provided by the UNC System Office Office of Post-Secondary Education Complaints to submit these complaints for processing.   Student Complaint Process 1. Have you filed a complaint at your institution? If yes, proceed to the next step. If no, please refer when your institution’s grievance process. You must frazzle all opportunities for resolution with the towardly persons at your institution surpassing filing a complaint with the University of North Carolina System Office. 2. Using the Student Complaint Form, submit all relevant information and supporting documentation regarding your complaint to the University of North Carolina System Office 910 Raleigh Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27515 or email to studentcomplaint@northcarolina.edu.   3. Once received by the UNC System Office office, complaints will be forwarded to the towardly zone for action: a. Complaints versus any of the 17 plug-in institutions will be forwarded to the Office of Student Affairs at UNC System Office. b. Complaints versus any of the 58 polity colleges will be forwarded to the North Carolina CommunityHigherSystem. c. Complaints versus any of the 36 privately held institutions will be forwarded to North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities. d. Complaints versus any licensed institution will be forwarded to the Licensure Division of UNC System Office. e. Complaints versus out-of-state institutions duly authorized to operate within the state of North Carolina will be forwarded to the Licensure Division of UNC System Office. 4. Student will be notified of resolution. More information regarding State AuthorizationPowerlessnessServices Pamlico CommunityHigheris sensitive to the needs of disabled applicants.
